2025 Review: So many projects, so little time!

Richard Huntley | December 15, 2025

What do the following have in common? (We hasten to assure you that this is not the start of the office party Christmas quiz!)

  • An NHS flagship rehabilitation hospital.
  • State of the art schools.
  • One-of-a-kind luxury hotels.
  • Grade II listed buildings, like The Barbican.
  • Premier League Studios, London

These many different types of construction projects, with very different engineering requirements, have all benefitted from MultiCAD’s CAD, MEP or BIM design expertise in the last 12 months.

Not to mention, of course, that our project list has included award winning designs (the NHS Rehabilitation Centre), iconic London landmarks (The Barbican Centre) and high-profile commercial projects (Premier League Studios at the Olympia site, London).

Naturally, it’s not all about looking back. We’ve already got some exciting projects lined up for 2026: do you have a project that would benefit from highly accurate work, delivered to tight-timelines with a minimum of fuss?

To find out more about how we’ve applied our expertise over the year, read on and if you want to contact us to discuss your projects in 2026, we’re all ears.

NHS and healthcare

MultiCAD provided full MEP co-ordination and BIM for a new build hospital, the £105M National Rehabilitation Centre. It’s already an award winning building, with its designs being highly commended in the ‘Future Healthcare Design’ category in the European Healthcare Design Awards. Our work included fire alarm layouts and ventilation systems, allowing for early clash detection on this essential building systems.

This was informed by our previous experience in MEP services for healthcare, including working on St George’s University Hospitals ITU in London.

State of the art schools

Two education-sector projects, one involving designs for the first Secure School to be built in the UK and the other an £11 million refurbishment of the existing site at Meadow High School in Uxbridge.

Both projects involved the renovation of existing sites, with both new blocks to be constructed and significant redevelopment of existing blocks or buildings.

The challenges included providing accurate co-ordination for MEP services that meet the unique educational needs of each facility, which including security requirements for Oasis Restore and SEND requirements for Meadow High. Designs also had to be delivered within tight project deadlines, to ensure construction work could be phased around the annual school calendar, and minimise inconvenience to students and staff.

Luxury hotels

Continuing our redevelopment work in the luxury hotel sector, in 2025 we provided support for redeveloping the Marriott owned Westbury Hotel.

The 196 room hotel in Mayfair is due to open during 2026, with the addition of an eight floor and a two storey basement. MultiCAD provided full MEP co-ordination and BIM to ensure suitable provision of building services that integrate seamlessly with the existing fabric of the building.

Our expertise and experience in previous years like the redevelopment of the O2 Intercontinental Hotel, involving conversion of an underground car park to a stunning grand ballroom, and redevelopment of the Bow Street Magistrates court into a luxury hotel complex, made MultiCAD an obvious choice for this project.

Heritage buildings and London icons

Our 3D Scanning services have been in demand during 2025, with several projects where a Grade II listed building must be mapped with pinpoint accuracy to allow refurbishment or redevelopment work to take place without damaging the buildings’ façades or other listed features.

3D scanning (or Point Cloud scanning) uses LiDAR to reproduce the existing building far more accurately than a traditional survey, and is then used to create a BIM model for the project.

33-38 Rushworth Street, in Southwark, is the site of a former bottling plant for fizzy drinks. Already converted to offices, its extension will create 40,000 square feet of new office space while maintaining the existing building façade, linked to the existing Grade II property. The site at 16 Charles Street is being transformed into four high-end restaurants and a private members club, with MultiCAD providing full MEP co-ordination.

The iconic Barbican Centre is in the early stages of a £240 million, five year plan and MultiCAD were delighted to begin work on the 3D scanning and MEP work this year.

Commercial and office space

  • Google UK, King’s Cross, London
  • House of Fraser refurbishment, Oxford Street, London
  • Wise offices fit-out, Worship Square, London
  • Minerva House, London
  • Premier League Studios, Olympia site, London

Our CAD and BIM technicians have been busy with commercial projects this year, including lighting installation co-ordination for Google’s new UK headquarters.

Other projects have included refurbishment of the six storey art deco House of Fraser store on Oxford Street. We’ve assisted with MEP co-ordination to provide early clash detection on building services. We’ve also worked on the fit-out of Wise’s offices in Worship Square and redevelopment of Minerva House, providing modern office space along the banks of the river Thames.

For something a little different, we were also commissioned to provide drafting work for the Premier League Studios at the Olympia site. The site will provide state-of-the-art facilities for media and broadcast, with highly accurate electrical co-ordination provided by MultiCAD for the 73,000 square foot building.

What are you working on in 2026?

We’re already excited about 2026 and the projects we have lined up and, with our recent appointment of a new CAD Manager, we’ve got capacity for more CAD, MEP and BIM delivery.
